Casa del Teatro - Hostel

We were overcharged for our room. Website said 118€ and 17€ already paid and 101€ left to pay. Upon arrival we were forced to pay 160€ before they would give us the entry codes. In all we paid 177€. Don't book here, you will be scammed!

The shower head was broken, shower was clogged, there was one shower for all the hostel, ran out of toilet paper, ran out of dish soap, dust bunnies in the corners of our room, hairball in my “clean” sheets, coffee machine broken, the front door to the hostel was broken/rotting and therefore left ajar by all the guests the entire time we were there. The interior could be nice but unfortunately these things ruined the stay. Had to sleep with ear buds due to very loud street noise.

The staff was very helpful with the self check-in/check-out process. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a well-kept bathroom and kitchen. Also to be noted, the location is literally right around the corner from a good restaurant/café street. Very convenient access to Greater Trieste. I will stay here again on my next visit.
