Nanasqa Hostel

The staff were very helpful and kind

We had good communication with the hostel prior to our arrival. We booked a taxi pickup from the bus station but no one showed up to pick us up and when we eventually got to the hostel no one was there to let us in, and no one answered the doorbell or the phone number we were given even though the property says it’s 24 hour reception. The door was open so we let ourselves in and found someone on the roof who could get us a key to our room. We then watched him use our key to open a different dorm, where someone else was sleeping, before he let us into our room. The next day communication and organization wasn’t any better. We booked our Nazca flight with the hostel and it was nearly an hour late to pick us up and when we tried to get the hostel to help us organize a taxi to the bus station they were not helpful at all. The hostel itself was not close to any cafes or restaurants and the street dogs were an issue, unlike in other places in Peru. Overall the most unimpressed and unsafe we’ve felt during our month in Peru.
