Maya Moon Lodge is a gorgeous property with wonderful staff (particularly Layla, who was incredibly warm and welcoming). I loved my stay here and was sad to leave after 3 nights. I stayed in the dorm and found it to be very comfortable, and I enjoyed waking up to a view of the sunrise on the lake. The property is surrounded by nature and feels remote, but it only takes 25 minutes to walk into San Marcos. You can also easily get around by boat or tuk tuk. I would return here in a heartbeat.

A beautiful lodge on a lovely part of the lake with clear water, friendly staff, good food and a great vibe. The hostel is social but everyone is there to explore rather than party so it’s fine to do your own thing too. The volunteers were very welcoming and made the stay. The beds were also super comfy and the showers hot and clean.
