Kirkby Stephen Hostel offers accommodation in Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria. We are centrally situated in the Upper Eden Valley, nestled between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
Formerly a youth hostel, it is now a converted Methodist Chapel and boasts a range of accommodation for individuals, families and groups amongst beautiful authentic features; stained glass windows, arches, oak panels and stone covings.
If you are a group or just want some privacy and want a private room then you will need to purchase each bed in that room.

The reception works from 8 am to 10 am & from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Cancellation policy: 24h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
Check in from 17:00 to 19:00 .
Check out before 10:00 .
Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, debit cards.
Taxes included.
This property may pre-authorise your card before arrival.
No curfew.

Great value stopping place, especially for walkers and bike riders.

This was an unpleasant hostel. Chosen for location on Coast to Coast walk. Security lax - envelopes containing guests names, door key codes and amount charged in folder pinned to outside of front door. We were charged almost double the pre-agreed rate & have to reclaim this. No sign of a warden. Very dirty - hard to tell if bedding had been changed, rubbish was left in room, shower was filthy & didn't drain properly. Large party of children arrived 10pm - very noisy until after 12. Slept badly.

Came here with a group of 40/50 year old women, our first ever hostel experience. Other friends didn't fancy the bunk bed/basics of a hostel, but the beds were so comfy, plenty of pillows, bedding and the room was just what we needed, just somewhere to get our heads dow and a good night sleep. A really nice communal area with board games and well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. The 2 ladies who work there (Denise and sorry, I forgot your name) were so accommodating.
