Hostal Punta El Zonte

I was really surprised to see the reviews for this place, because it’s an excellent budget hostel that deserves a lot more love. Accomodation in this area is expensive! Meaning, Hostal Punta is the budget option around this neck of the woods, so be aware that you aren’t getting anything fancy. That being said, I found this place amazing. Aldo is a legend, and basically operates as the don of the area when surfing so he is full of advice. The location is also absolutely bonkers. Would reccomend.

This is VERY terrible value for what you pay. I arrived at 9am and I of course didn’t expect the cabin to be ready til 3pm. It wasn’t ready until 5pm and I had requested a cot that wasn’t put in until 6pm. They shut off the water (unknown to me) so I couldn’t take a shower in the evening or wash my hands/flush the toilet. Not until I asked in the morning- again NO ONE told me of this. There’s not even hand soap or a bench to put your toiletries. The hostel has no vibe at night. NO WIFI IN CABIN

The worst hostel we have ever stayed at, and highly overpriced for what you get. Only positive side here are the views, but still not worth it. We booked a private room and were extremely disappointed. The whole hostel is falling appart with obviously no maintenance or recent renovation. Very dirty pool, no shower head, no shower curtain. On arrival, we had no toilet paper or towels in our bathroom. Room did not lock, so anyone can walk in. The posted photos are outdated and false advertising.
