The Big Easy Phnom Penh

This is basically a sports bar that is packed with middle aged men drinking beer and hitting on the staff. I was unlucky and got stuck with the loudest person I’ve ever experienced in a dorm room. Did not feel safe as a solo female traveller. I think if the hostel want to keep this vibe of the sports bar catering to men, they should allow women to access the other dorms. The other dorm upstairs was empty and I was denied the use of this space. Felt like there was no where for me to go.

Pls pls pls don’t stay here if you’re a solo girl, i had the worst experience and moved hostels for the first time ever. I felt super uneasy from the beginning and was pushed past my limit when there was a drunk man in my dorm at 8am yelling and opening everyone’s curtains. And when I hurriedly checked out early and told the receptionist, she didn’t seem to care at all. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else, full of weird old men and in an unsafe area.

Location was good for a short stay however private room smelt of sewage which staff just sprayed air freshener. Air con didn’t work properly so we were sweating most of the night
