Hotel Amigos

Overrated. Unfortunately, that is the only word I have for this hostel is overrated! Dont pay extra for an aircon dorm that is attached to the reception desk, it is awful. Only available toilets and showers require walking through the reception, tour desk and restraunt! Kitchen was almost unusable with lack of basic equipment and sanitary needs, almost felt deliberate to force customers to use the overpriced restraunt. None of the social activities advertised are actually followed through on.

This place has INCREDIBLE views and a perfect location for young travelers. The reception was extremely hospitable and helpful. We stayed in a private room overlooking the lake. The chapin breakfast with the views on the rooftop is unbeatable. The music is loud but really does completely stop right at 11 which makes it just fine. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had what it needed. We would 100% stay again. Stay here and go visit Mr. Mullet’s HH if you want a higher energy environment.

The property really didn’t feel that clean, lots of bugs in the bathrooms and also some in the room. Also the room we were in overlooked one of the main streets in San Pedro which meant there was music blaring into the room until late at night. We were unfortunately staying in San Pedro to get an early bus the next morning and so were very tired the next day! Also no lockers supplied for free and anyone can just walk onto the premises as there’s no lock on the front door.
