When an African girl and a Cretan guy decide to open a hostel! Kumba happens! We created Kumba with the idea of integrating the African and Cretan cultures into a one world friendly Hostel. Kumba is located in the heart of Chania, where you can enjoy the old city vibes on a budget.
Kumba is located in the picturesque town of Chania just 1,2 km from the Venetian Harbour and 500 m from Koum Kapi beach. We have a bus stop just outside our door steps making it easy to get around and see what Chania has to offer.
We offer 5 dormitories, 6 private rooms and a cafe bar that has the best coffee around! All rooms are uniquely designed to maximise comfort and to ensure our friends have everything they need.
We have a small shared kitchenette area.

Cancellation policy: 7 days before arrival.
Check in from 15:00 to 23:00.
Check out from 07:00 to 12:00.

Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, debit cards.

i had a great stay at the hostel it is a wonderful place and it sure feels extremely relaxing!
The young ladies working there where nothing but kindness and the guests well i got there at the perfect time it seems to me,...
I highly recommend this hostel, great facilities they did amazing work renivating it,... the sleeping pods are the best giving loads of privacy, dark enough to sleep and the matras is good

Really friendly and welcoming staff. Common area sitting was spacious and clean with great wifi connection Coffee served at reception bar was excellent. However the pod bunks were not the best as there was not much room for opening bags or organizing things in the room. Bathroom ensuite to female room was quite grim and really needs a screen on the window to stop mosquitoes getting in. Kitchen was smaller and not cleaned. Fridge was overcrowded. Good value overall for Chania.

not convinced that not providing a fitted sheet on top of mattress cover is in theirs or our best interest. probably people end up using mattress cover as bottom sheet. i didnt realise until too late there was only one sheet, ended up wrapped in the one sheet. some other hostels do provide 2 sheets as standard and even blankets. the place is beautiful ,kept finding new interesting spaces . this is probably just me +my bad memory+ eyesight but the step around the sink area nearly caught me out.
