Every first Saturday of the month happens at Rua do Lavradio the 'Feira do Rio Antigo'. Visit the Ecadaria convento de Santa Teresa, known as Escadaria Selaron (the painter's work and ceramist Jorge Selaron - 1947/2013) connecting Joaquim Silva Street, in Lapa, with the Ladeira de Santa Teresa where is located in the Santa Teresa neighbourhood. In the Carnival, no doubt, everything passes near by. In addition to being next to the Lapa, we are also less than 10 minutes walking from the Sambadromo! Here, parade since the year 1984 the most charming samba schools in Rio de Janeiro. And the centre? The centre lives not just business. It is worth noting the Polo Sahara for those who like shopping, located 5 minutes from our hostel, Largo da Carioca with the Convent of St. Anthony, the Imperial Palace, the Municipal Theatre, the Royal Portuguese Reading Office, the National Library, the Cultural center of the Bank of Brazil and much more. Noteworthy are also the Metropolitan Rio de Janeiro Cathedral and recently renovated Praça Mauá, where is located the Museu do Amanha. No, we have not forgotten the Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf or who no doubt with the Mirante Dona Marta are the best views of Rio de Janeiro.

How horrible!
The area doesn’t feel safe, the beds are super old and everytime once in the bunk bed move the other wakes up!!! The baths were nasty. The sink was full of vomit and also one didn’t work, and there was no soap to wash your hands or papers

This was the worst hostel i have ever stayed in my life. The beds are smell like a sh*t all off them are dirty, wet and one was the bloody. The sheets was not clean i am pretty sure they are not washing the sheets. There is no one speaks english. This place is a hotel actually and there is a hole they put some rooms in this hole and said hostel. Please make a favor for yourself and stay away from this disgussting place

Rooms smelt v bad because of the street outside,,, not their fault but not nice to stay there.
