The MADÁ hostel is one of those places you like already at the entrance.
A beautiful and airy house with a very familiar climate. On the ground floor is our common area: garden, a nice room, space for snacks, shared kitchen. If you're lucky, you'll be able to eat a toasted bun or freshly baked cake.
We have 28 beds in six rooms. There are two suites, two private rooms with shared bathroom and three collective (two with 6 - mixed and female - and the other with 8 beds).
Our tip is that you spend a little of your time to stay on the porch.
The charming townhouse right in the middle of the bustle of Vila Madalena, but in a quiet little street, closed for cars at night, between Aspicuelta and Wisard streets. 5 blocks from the subway station Fradique Coutinho.
When you stay here you will be 15 steps from the ballad. It's not the way to talk, it's true!
The hostel allows guests the best of both worlds: an incredible location and the tranquility that a street with inner city face can provide.
Guests arriving before check-in can leave their luggage and use the common area of the property while the room is not available.

The location was great - super close to Batman ally and loads of great cafes and easy to get Ubers! We arrived late but they kindly let us check in at 1 am with a super helpful video (in English too). The staff were so so helpful and gave us great tips and let us leave our bags. Although we weren’t there long enough to experience the atmosphere, it had a good set up. Felt very welcome by the staff and wish we could have stayed longer. The shower was one of best we’ve had. Nice hostel on a quiet street directly off the main Vila Madalena party hotspot. The hostel is split over two buildings about 100m apart, we were in what seemed like the secondary building so there maybe wasn't as much atmosphere.
Kitchen was pretty good, but a few bowls would be nice.
Staff were super responsive to all our questions either in person or over WhatsApp.
