I had a private room with a shared toilet.
The room itself was fine - everything worked OK - i.e. the shower. The sink in the room did not have any handsoap.
The shared toilet was tiny and there was no sink next to the toilet - also the toilet seat was unstable.
The staff were OK,not super friendly.
Note - You have to vacate your room and leave the room key at reception between 11 and 3 pm and you are not allowed to access your room.
Also you have to hand in your key every time you leave.

Plastic mattress, shower is in the room but water is freezing cold, there is a no-noise policy after 11 pm but people were playing music until 1 am. You can hear loud noises from the water pipes and also the metro if you are in one of the lower floors.

A great hostel, in a great and lively location (3min away from the metro and 10min away from the Bastille), free breakfast, really nice and considerate staff, and nice rooms. My one and only complaint would probably be the facilities, but one really cannot expect wonders in a hostel, so for the money it's good. The showers are a bit dingy, so definitely bring a pair of slippers you can wear in them, but apart from that everything is great.
