Mountain View Backpackers Wanaka

Kia Ora, Welcome to Wanaka and the Mountain View Backpackers, Your home away from home! We are a classic kiwi homely style hostel with 30 beds. We are perfectly located, just two minutes walk from the centre of town and beautiful lake Wanaka.

With a big garden with fresh herbs and (sometimes fresh vegies... (our thumbs are not always that green!), off street parking, free WiFi, a cosy fireplace, ski/bike storage and maintenance/tuning shed, drying room, BBQ, hairdryers and coffee plungers you will never want to leave!

Our friendly staff love to help you plan your time here. Chill out by the lake, catch a movie at the famous Paradiso cinema, go hiking or try one of the many adrenaline activities available including endless biking trails (try Helibiking) skiing, mountaineering, sky diving or even canyoning. Wanaka is the perfect base for exploring and has something for everyone!

Mountain View Backpackers is a small, sociable hostel that offers a relaxed atmosphere after a busy day.

Check in is from 2pm until 5.00 pm. Late check in is by arrangement only. Please ensure you contact hostel to organise

We do not take bookings after reception closes for the same day. Valid ID and vaccines passes must be provided at check in

Checkout is before 10am. (Late check out fee will be charged).

We are not a party hostel and have low noise after 10pm. There are plenty of bars in town to enjoy

Drunk behaviour is not tolerated.

Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to have anyone under the age of 18. Sorry

Should you want private use of an entire room please contact us directly as with some group bookings we are unable to guarantee that you will be all in the same room.
