Greenwood Hostel is a countryside hostel, 10 km out of Kenmare town and the ideal place from where to explore the magnificent scenery of the Ring of Kerry and the MacGillycuddy Reeks, Ireland`s highest mountains.

The hostel combines the charm of an old-world-cottage with all the amenities that will make your stay comfortable and relaxing. We offer clean and comfortable double-rooms and small dormitories/family rooms (4-6 Persons) with beautiful views on Kenmare Bay. Enjoy the cosy common room with peat fire and our garden with mature trees, orchard and barbecue area.

Absolutely brilliant. Staff helpful and friendly. Great facilities, felt like home, they even started a fire in the evening. To be clear there is nothing facilities wise around if you are cycling, and the sea is a 30 minute walk away. I think it is a perfect place if you want to bunker down for the night and cook a good meal for you and yours.

It was a great place to stay for the night. We had booked a dorm and ended up getting to stay in an en suite bedroom, without an additional charge.
