Santo Domingo Hostel is in a Colonial house constructed in the XVIIth century, the Santo Domingo hostel is opened for you to offer comfort and rest in its 10 beautiful private rooms or in its dorms.
It receives its name thanks to its location near the Church of Santo Domingo, one of the most beautiful and important in the city, with its beautiful Capilla del Rosario, considered as an architectural jewel of Mexico and in the world.
One of the aspects that characterize the city of Puebla de los Angeles is the quality of its people. The poblanos are people who always will receive any visitor of the Republic and of the world with smile.
Something that is worthy to recognize is our delightful gastronomy, one of the most famous thanks to its flavor. Good: great physical location, exceptional price and meticulous cleanliness. Helpful staff, especially the young guy at reception, when they were around, which was not all the time.
Bad: poor WiFi in rooms, hot water about 20% of the time and rarely when needed, noisy late night music, lots of hookers hanging around the entrance, and I was sometimes utterly alone in the entire building. Kind of weird.

I really enjoyed my stay here! Location could not have been better, room was clean and spacious. The price for the double room is absolutely incredible value for money. I’ve been to Puebla before and I’d high recommend. I can’t really comment on the vibe, because I didn’t really spend any time in the hostel and I have friends in the city. Seen a previous review mention the security - I thought it was very secure?

The only problem I had was that it was easy to come in and out of the Hostal without being noticed, and anyone could have easily come in off the street during the daytime hours. Front desk was not always staffed, so anyone could walk in. Everything else was good. The place was clean, everyone was friendly, and I enjoyed my stay.
