Nice hostel to hang out and relax at! The outdoor areas are great, many people just hung by the pool all day! Easy to meet others, nice restaurant and supermarket nearby. The manager makes a real effort to make the hostel the best it can be.

A great hostel for the price charged. Staff were helpful and nice common areas to relax. Breakfast was a highlight - one of the best I've had in 4 months of travel!! Some lockers would be great though, and my 4 bed dorm lacked ventilation as the window couldn't be opened.

A nice hostel in a fantastic location - right on the beach. I enjoyed waking up to see the sun rise over the ocean. Lots of hammocks and space for everyone. Some lockers would be great as we didn't each have keys to the dorm and while there were some lockable desk drawers sometimes they were all taken. The bathroom was open to the elements and lots of insects were crawling around - I got a few bites of some sort. Kind staff. It's a language school too so expect classes outside your room.

Top marks for location - 1 min from the nicest part of the beach for swimming!! Basic but fine rooms, it's nice that a basic breakfast is included too. Reception staff can be a bit hard to find but someone is usually around. Lockers in the shared rooms would be much appreciated, I asked to store my valuables in reception and was told they don't do that, but it may have been a language barrier. I'd recommend staying if you don't have a car and want to make the most of the beach!

Really great hostel! I booked another night. Modern, nice outdoor area with a view & hammocks, helpful staff who were very patient with all my travel questions, comfortable bunk beds and enough bathrooms! To take it to the next level - longer reception hours, maybe 2 receptionists and a hair dryer to use would be great!

A nice enough hostel. Location is in a quiet residential area near to the foodie area (Zona G). It felt secure. Bathrooms are new & never had to wait for a shower :) I booked a single room and was lucky to get a larger room with desk. The price was fair. The wifi reached one half of the room. Breakfast was ok- some days better than others. Very much seems the 'small sister' of La Pinta hostel, which seemed to have more atmosphere and facilities. Hopefully with time it will develop into its own.

I enjoyed my stay here, which I ended up extending. Location is in a quiet residential area and security is strong, which for me was preferable to being more central but in a not-so-nice area after dark. A supermarket, bakery & trolley bus stop to get downtown are within a few minutes walk. The guest house is quiet and cosy - def not a party place. David and his mother are kind hosts and I would recommend to people looking for a relaxed stay in Quito.

My sister and I very much enjoyed our stay here. Excellent value, nice staff, comfy beds, hot showers, cable tv and a delicious breakfast (try the omelette!). We were also happy with the tour we booked through reception.

I enjoyed my stay overall. Staff were helpful, building is secure and location is convenient. It was nice to watch a dvd and use the sunroom. Rooms are basic though and showers not great (warm but showerheads are tiny - wish I'd asked to have the room heater switched on).

Despite an initial mix up with our booking, we had a great 4 nights at Hostal Al Yaris. Yes it is remote (especially if you don't have a car) but that's what we were looking for - to relax in nature. Bus connections are fine and it is possible to buy supplies nearby and cook in the kitchen. We stayed over New Years and enjoyed Richard and Melissa's hospitality and a great fiesta! The breakfast was an amazing spread of homemade products and the gardens are great to relax in. Recommended!

My sister & I enjoyed our 3 nights at Hostel Windmill. The location is convenient and it is easy to get to the bus station on foot. The staff are very kind and gave us great suggestions of things to do. The hostel is still quite new so they are renovating the bathrooms but once completed it should be great. The price was very fair for Mendoza and we enjoyed our stay!

A nice place to stay, but lots of school groups everywhere. Enjoyed the white fluffy towel and TV in my 4 bed dorm,. A locker would have been handy though, 1 safe isn't really practical for 4 individual travellers?! The walking tour was good too, Amanda was a great guide.

A nice place to stay. Had some issues contacting staff though - I was so glad to have a working mobile phone otherwise I would have had problems. The staff were generous to let me stay after checkout. Location is great, there is a breakfast included too.

A nice place to stay, but personally I wasn't prepared for the sheer size of it (quite impersonal if you are travelling alone), and all the school groups. The rooms were very clean though, and the free drink was nice. Bit of a trek from the rooms to the kitchen, and wifi in the rooms would definitely be valued. Also there were signs everywhere saying quiet after 10pm, but I had to shut the window as the Wombats Bar was blasting music long after that, not sure how that works! Great staff too.

I really enjoyed my stay! Lots of nice people, a great kitchen to use, and I appreciated being able to exchange my book. Love the idea behind the hostel too. Make sure you have the instructions on how to get there handy when you arrive though, as it is not easy to find. Recommended!
